Pogba can be Europe´s greatest – Pirlo

Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo believes team-mate Paul Pogba can be Europe s best midfielder for years to come.

Pogba, 22, is already considered among the world s best – linked to numerous clubs after a strong season with the UEFA Champions League finalists and Serie A champions.

Pirlo expressed surprise at Manchester United s decision to allow Pogba to leave in July 2012, saying the France international is set to be an even bigger star.

If he carries on the way he is, then he will become the greatest midfield player in Europe and at his age he could have that title for a long time, Pirlo told The Mirror.

I don t understand why Manchester United let him go. If you look at their midfield now they could really use a player like him. It might have been…

Manchester United set for Stones bid

Manchester United are lining up a £50m bid for Everton defender John Stones,.

The Red Devils have made the England international their top target, and could be set to make him the most expensive defender in world football.

Chelsea have also been strongly linked with another move for the former Barnsley man having seen three big money bids of their own rejected by the Merseyside club last summer.

The 21 year old moved to Goodison Park in the summer of 2013, and has since racked up sixty-nine appearances in all competitions, scoring his one and only goal for the club so far against United in a 3-0 victory towards the end of last season.

He has been capped seven times by England, and is set to be part of their squad for next summer’s European Champi…

Chelsea were reportedly keen to keep the services of Willian past this summer, but the Brazilian winger wanted a deal lasting at least three years, which they weren t willing to offer due to the fact that he ll be turning 32 in August. As for Pedro, the former Barcelona forward appears to be on his way to AS Roma on a two-year deal. It was reported last week that he had decided to le…

Juventus 3-0 Bayer Leverkusen: Higuain stars as Bianconeri coast

Gonzalo Higuain scored one and set up another as Juventus coasted to a 3-0 Champions League win over Bayer Leverkusen at Allianz Stadium.

The Argentina striker provided a textbook finish in the 17th minute to put Juve ahead and cleverly assisted Federico Bernardeschi to double the hosts just after the hour.

Coach Maurizio Sarri will have been delighted to see such an effective performance from Higuain, a player who was much maligned during a difficult 2018-19 campaign. Although Juve rarely shifted through the gears, a fine outing was completed by Cristiano Ronaldo netting the third goal late on.

A win for Juve means they and Atletico Madrid each have four points from two Group D games and the Bianconeri can switch their focus to a domestic showdown with unbeaten …

Ronaldinho omitted from Brazil´s World Cup squad

There was no place for Ronaldinho or Adriano in Dunga s 23-strong squad for the World Cup announced on Tuesday.

The double absence did not come as a surprise as the duo played only minor roles in qualifying for the June 11-July 11 World Cup in South Africa.

The 30-year-old Ronaldinho, part of the 2002 World Cup-winning team, made his last appearance for Brazil in April 2009 while Dunga had expressed concern over Adriano s missed club training and weight problems.

There were two major surprises, however, in Dunga s inclusion of VfL Wolfsburg striker Grafite, in Adriano s place, and Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

Brazil, five-time World Cup winners, have been drawn in Group G alongside Ivory Coast, Portugal and North Korea.

No Beck as Loew announces Germany squad

Germany coach Joachim Loew unveiled his final World Cup squad of 23 players on Tuesday, with Andreas Beck of Hoffenheim the man to miss out on the trip to South Africa.

Already without injured captain Michael Ballack, Loew admitted on Saturday he faced making some brutal decisions ahead of submitting his final team.

As well as missing Ballack, who was injured during Chelsea s FA Cup final win over Portsmouth, Germany will also be without Heiko Westermann, who broke his foot late in the Hungary game at the weekend.

Defender Beck, who made his debut for Germany against Norway in February 2009, was the only player left on the sidelines by Loew.

Germany will begin their World Cup campaign on June 13 against Australia, and will also play Serbia, Australi and …

West Brom, AC Milan vying for Henri Bedimo

Premier League outfit West Bromwich and Italian giants AC Milan are among clubs keeping close tabs on Lyon defender Henri Bedimo, .

The 31-year-old has lost his place in the side with the arrival of new coach Bruno Genesio and it would appear as though he will be allowed to leave the club this winter.

With his contract due to expire at the end of the season, Lyon will probably jump at the opportunity to cash in on the Cameroonian full-back.

The latest reports suggest that West Bromwich, AC Milan and Besiktas are all keen on the player s services, with all three clubs expected to step up their interest in the coming days.

Henri Bedimo has spent his entire professional career in France, representing the likes of Grenoble, Toulouse, Le Havre, Chateauroux, L…

Wolves 1 Burnley 0: Nuno´s new boys continue strong start

Raul Jimenez scored the winner as Wolves moved into the top half of the Premier League with a 1-0 victory over Burnley.

Wolves have made an impressive start on their return to the top flight, losing just once and holding champions Manchester City to a draw, and they were on top throughout at Molineux on Sunday.

The hosts wasted numerous chances to take the lead and found Joe Hart in excellent form in the Burnley goal.

However, Jimenez converted a neat move to break the deadlock in the 61st minute and that proved enough to make it eight points from five, while Burnley remain without a win.

FT | 1-0

That s full time! A second half strike awards Wolves all three points after a fantastic display at Molineux.

Mignolet to return for Liverpool against Chelsea

Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet will return to Liverpool s starting line-up for the EFL Cup match against Chelsea, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.

Alisson s arrival during the close season has consigned the Belgium international to the sidelines this term, while he lost his starting spot to Loris Karius – now on loan at Besiktas – in 2017-18.

But Klopp confirmed at a news conference that Mignolet will be in the first XI when Chelsea arrive at Anfield for Wednesday s third-round game.

The only position I will confirm that we will change is Simon will start, he said.

All the rest, you have to wait, but it will be a good team, believe me.

Klopp went on to praise Mignolet s application and hard work while accepting his new reality as understudy to the se…
